Walgreens

Walgreens:
1) Lingo for Walgreens
Wags = Walgreens
RR = register Rewards
IAQ = In ad coupon (in weekly ad flyer)
IVC = Instant Value Coupon (monthly booklet found in store)

2) Register Rewards
Register Rewards (RRs) are like cash.  They can be treated similar to gift cards, but on paper.  Some differences/rules do apply:
*One RR will print per transaction. So if you buy two identical items that should produce a RR in the same transaction, only ONE RR will print.
*RRs are treated as a Manufacturer Coupon (MQ)
*RRs can be used to purchase another of the same item, but it will NOT print a second RR.  In order for the RRs to continue to print out, you can not use a RR to pay for another item made by that Manufacturer.  The only exception is if the RR sale is "Rolling."  That means the RR for the item can be used to pay for another, and another RR will print.  "Rolling" RRs is RARE!!
ex. Sale is Buy Carmex Lip Care for $2, earn $2 RR
You buy one Carmex, pay $2 cash, and earn $2 RR
You buy a second Carmex, pay with the $2 RR earned above, and you will NOT get a second $2 RR.

3) Coupon Policy
Official document from Walgreens - go HERE
*One MQ per item
*RR are considered MQs
*IAQ and IVCs will multiple with one scan
ex. Purchase 3 items and scan IAQ or IVC once, and it will automatically take off 3 times the value of the coupon

4) Tips
If you have a MQ for each item you are purchasing, and want to use RRs to apply to your total, you must add a FILLER item.  This is a small priced item to allow you to use the RRs.  Some good fillers are Angel Mints, pencils, Royal Gelatin, etc.
Remember - RRs are considered MQs, and you need to purchase an item for each MQ you use.
ex.  Purchase 3 items and a filler, use 3 MQs and 1 RR.
ex. Purchase 3 items and 2 fillers, use 3 MQs and 2 RRs.

5) Separate Transactions
This is KEY to win the Wags game!  You must check out with separate transactions to maximize your savings.  There are several things to keep in mind so you don't get overwhelmed or frustrated at the counter:
*Have your transactions ready PRIOR to going shopping. Scenarios are often listed before the sale starts on many of the websites.
*Use small paper bags or colored dots to separate/organize different transactions in your cart.
*If there is a line and you have several transactions, then process a few then go to the back of the line.
*You do NOT have to do all transactions in one day!  If you don't have time, forget coupons, or want to take it slow - as long as you purchase the items in transaction order, you can take all week to do it!

6) Rain Checks
Always get a rain check for sale items out of stock.  Ask for the maximum allowed, especially if it is a product your family uses alot of.  Wags Rain Checks never expire!
